Thoughts:#

I have a hard time giving this game a rating. I really loved the overall design and theme of the game. I don’t mind that the primary audience is young kids, but I also feel like so many features in this game are contradictory.

There are some difficulty settings like invincibility and 1-hit kills, but no way to reduce the difficulty of the minigames. You can only skip them! When it gets too hard (like Violet’s bubble bobble puzzle), there are no adjustments. This is ridiculous, why is a minigame, especially one that’s not attached to any special awards or completion bonuses, harder than the actual boss fight?

Also, one thing I hate about the ending, why is it that game devs always pick damn rail shooter/bullet hell mechanics for the final boss fight? At least this game had SOME training in one of the minigames unlike other games. This is seriously a pet peeve of mine.

I’m not trying to be negative, but this game is simultaneously too easy most of the time, and frustratingly difficult in key segments. I really wanted to love this game but my issues leave me feeling about 7/10 on this game. The puzzle elements are fine, and overall I enjoyed it enough to complete it.

Honestly, this game gave me new appreciation for how fine tuned the Zelda games are on difficulty in every aspect.
