This was another great installment! I honestly liked this book better than the previous book.

The third level is all about getting getting acclimated to the “ongoing” story for the Dungeon, and has Carl and Donut doing several sidequests to gain experience or learn more about upcoming levels.

To be honest, I was completely engrossed with the mystery of the sidequests, especially the one about the circus and Tsarina. I’ve heard some people say that books 2 and 3 are the “slower” books of the series, but I didn’t find this one a drag at all. I’m glad it’s not all simple fighting, and there is strategy to the encounters.

The twist with the Skull Empire trying to assassinate Carl and Donut was wild! There’s so much going on in the greater universe that I really want to know about.

Also, is it just me or does Carl seriously pay more attention to the men than the women in the series? You’re not beating the allegations buddy 😂. Neither is the System AI for that matter
