Thoughts:
Honestly, my score is just a reflection of my feelings about this game, so feel free to disregard.
I didn’t care for the story since it was kind of heavy-handed and not particularly well thought out. I don’t need my puzzle games to have a good story, but this was clearly aiming for a kind of emotional ending. The moral at the end was kind of silly and obvious too. I think there may be a bit of a language issue too, since I don’t think the way the developer used “static” in the game has the intended connotation and meaning. They used it to mean “unchanging, lazy, stagnant”, but honestly I thought that was an unusual way to spin it.
I was pretty hooked on the puzzles, but I was stuck on several puzzles for quite a long time. By the end of the game, I was frustrated enough that I just wanted to finish the game and looked up some solutions for some of them. Maybe I’m just dumb, but I feel like the game doesn’t do a good job of easing you into the new mechanics or learning new techniques before asking you to figure it out in a new puzzle room.
This was just my personal experience, and I think people who love hardcore puzzle games (like Baba is You) will like this game.
